Abstract

Numerous empirical studies were dealing with presence of homicide at mentally ill people whereby they were dealing with their personality and social-demographic characteristics, too. The aim of this assignment was to ascertain if there are some differences between psycho offenders and non-offenders of blood felony in regard to their social-demographic characteristics. A survey was carried out on a sample made of 118 male candidates. The respondents are divided into two groups: group of forensic patients - psycho offenders of blood felony (N=59) and group of hospitalized psycho non-offenders felony (N=59). In an effort to determine two diagnostically homogeneous groups in regard to dichotomist variables (committing blood felony, non-committing blood felony), the questionnaire of social-demographic data, which had been made for this research, was applied to all respondents. The results have proved existence of social-demographic characteristics according to which we can differentiate psychotic offenders from psychotic nonoffenders of blood felony. Offenders of blood felony mostly originate from rural areas, they are usually middle child, they have lower education, and the education of their parents is also lower in comparing with non-offenders of blood felony. Most offenders of blood felony are single, and in relation to disease, they are diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic psychosis.
